Wednesday Update

I suspected this day would come. I’m so busy that time for updating you all on ministry has become a lower priority. That’s a good thing though, because I’m doing it!

This past week, after Connect Groups on Wednesday and Thursday, we kept going in our outreach to campus.

On Friday night, we had our anual Adventure Race. This event is a huge hit among students. Think Amazing Race + Survivor. There are clues to reach a location, running to the location, and then doing a task or solving a puzzle while at the location. It’s a great way for a student new to campus to get to know campus and for us to get to know them.

Saturday night was our first Saturday Night Grace worship service. One of our pastors, Wayne, spoke on the ideas brought up by a Bob Dylan song called “Gotta Serve Somebody.” In the message, he told us that this is really the message of Jesus. He says that He is the only way to God and you will either serve Him or your flesh and your own sin.

Afterwards, we had our anual Broomball extravaganza. People headed over to the Ice Arena for a great time slipping and sliding while enjoying new friendships and scoring goals.

And finally, last night, I led my first Home Fellowship with my co-leader, Jen. She and I asked the group what they were hoping out of an HF and ways groups like it have met those expectations and missed them in the past. It was a very healing time and a great time of vision casting for the future.

We’re now back into a regular rhythm with Connect Groups today and tomorrow and SNG this coming Saturday night. Please continue to pray for us and the ministry we are doing on campus.
